The original Z400, Kawasaki's 400 cc parallel twin that was built to compete with Honda's CB350 twin. The road test praises its balancer shaft that smooths vibration, its rigid frame, easy carburation and comfortable riding position. Weak points noted were the rear shocks, the front brake and a fuel tank that holds less usable fuel than stated.
